Atlanta Area Single Family Home Starts Down, But Not Due to Lack of Demand

While single family housing starts in the Atlanta area and around the South declined by over 2.5% in March when compared to a month earlier, local real estate experts say the slowdown isn't related to less demand. Instead, supply chain delays have prevented many home builders from completing projects already under construction, and many builders need to finish these homes before they can start new ones. Despite rising homes mortgage interest rates across the state of Georgia, most local home builders remain optimistic about long term demand and the health of the local housing market.
