Atlanta Real Estate Agents Expect Strong Intown Sales in 2018

Home buyers in the Atlanta area seeking relief from the region's traffic congestion and easy access to work and recreation will continue to drive sales in Intown Atlanta markets in 2018 according to local real estate agents.

Agents expect more activity in the Atlanta Beltine area, the Old Fourth Ward, Grant Park, and Westside Atlanta, as well as Decatur and other close- in neighborhoods. The Summerhill neighborhood will also see continued residential development due to its proximity to downtown Atlanta and the new Georgia State University stadium. However, even as developers increase the supply of new homes available with new condos, townhomes, and single family properties coming to the market throughout Intown Atlanta, homes remain in short supply. With demand and home building costs rising, home buyers can expect prices to continue to increase.  Home mortgage rates are also expected to rise in 2018, making homes even less affordable for buyers.
