Fewer Georgia Homeowners in Forbearance As Economy Recovers

As the economy in Georgia and around the country continues to recover from the Covid 19 pandemic, the number of home mortgage loans in forbearance continues to drop. Forbearance refers to an agreement between a home owner and a lender to delay a foreclosure. Although 2.3 million US homeowners are currently in forbearance programs with their lenders, that number has dropped each week for the past seven weeks. Real estate experts expect the number of homeowners in forbearance to continue to drop throughout the coming months as the economic recovery continues and more people return to full time employment.
