Georgia Housing Starts, Permits Increase

Housing starts across Georgia and the rest of the US rose to an annual rate of 1.17 million new units last month, according to a report by the NAHB. New permits for housing construction also increased. However, the number of single family housing units approved but not yet started increased steeply due to labor shortages and increases in the costs of building materials. Real estate analysts remain optimistic that demand for housing will continue to increase in the coming years.
