Georgia Mortgage Loan Applications Up Despite Higher Home Mortgage Interest Rates
Average home mortgage interest rates rose slightly in Georgia and around the country during the first week of January, responding to signals from the Federal Reserve. Thirty (30) year home mortgage rates rose from 3.400% to 3.500%, and the average fifteen (15) year rate rose from 2.600% to 2.730%. Home mortgage loan applications continued to increase, however, with fewer refinance applications in the mix.
