Georiga Housing Prices Continue Rising Despite Pandemic

Despite the Covid 19 pandemic, home prices have continued rising in Georgia and around the country, leading to a 5.3% rise in the April Home Price Index when compared to a year earlier. April home prices in 43 states were higher than their peaks before the pandemic. Real estate market experts cite pent up demand and a limited inventory as more potential sellers hesitate to list their homes due to Covid 19. However, home market analysts believe that home prices potentially may drop slightly in the coming months due to the pandemic-related market slowdown, the first slowdown in housing prices since 2012.
