Home Flipping Acitivty Up in Atlanta Area, Profits Down
According to a recent report, home flipping -- or buying a home in need of repairs, making improvements, then selling it quickly for a profit---was up 6 percent across the country in 2019 when compared to 2018. In the Atlanta area, however, home flipping activity increased 39 percent when compared to a year earlier. Over 6 percent of homes sold in Georgia and around the US in 2019 were flips. Profits, however, dropped moderately as the price of buying new properties to flip rose more quickly than resale gains.
