Immigrant Communities Contribute to Atlanta Housing Market

According to a recent Oxford University study, immigrants contributed to much of the economic growth in Georgia and around the United States between 2011 and 2016.  Over 13 percent of the US population is foreign born, which is the highest level since 1910, and many immigrants are purchasing homes and boosting local real estate markets. Immigrants typically migrate to areas of the country with strong economies and more job opportunities. Atlanta, with slightly over 14 percent of its population foreign born, ranks number 17 among US cities in the percentage of the population that is foreign born.
