Majority of Georgia Home Buyers are Married Couples, Single Females

According to recent data, married couples and single females made up the majority of home buyers across the state of Georgia and the US in the past year. Married couples bought 63 percent of all homes sold in the past twelve months, followed by single females, who purchased 18 percent of all homes sold. Single males purchased 8% of homes sold, up from 7% the previous year. The percentage of first time home buyers fell slightly to 33 percent as buyers faced inventory shortages of moderately priced homes and rising home mortgage loan interest rates made homes less affordable.
