March Home Sales Spike Over 30% in Metro Atlanta
According to a local realtors' group, home sales in metro Atlanta rose over 30% in March of this year when compared to a month earlier and rose over 7% higher when compared to March 2020. While available inventory was down in the region, sales increased due to higher demand fueled by the continuing economic recovery from the Covid 19 pandemic. Home mortgage interest rates have also remained near historic lows, helping drive demand. Home prices have also increased in the region, leading some real estate analysts to predict that the inventory crunch could ease later in the season as more buyers decide to list their homes for sale.
