Metro Atlanta Popuation Continue to Increase

The latest available Census estimates indicate that the state of Georgia continues to grow rapidly.  More that 80% of newcomers to the state during the past seven years relocated to metro Atlanta, leading to a metro population growth rate of over 11% and an increase of nearly 600,000 residents, helping to fuel demand for housing in the region.  Fulton County, with an estimated population of nearly 1,100,000 residents, remains the most populous county in the state. Gwinnett County follows with a population of approximately 920,000, while Cobb, with a population of 755,000, recently surpassed DeKalb County to become the state's third most populous county.
