Seasonally Adjusted Home Sales Lower in March 2018

Although existing home sales rose in March when compared to February, fewer homes were sold last month than a year earlier, despite strong demand. The seasonally adjusted rate of existing home sales for March was 1.2% below the numbers reported in March 2017. The low inventory of homes on the market in the Atlanta area and around the country contributed to lagging home sales, along with rapid price increases in markets in many areas of the United States. The national median price for existing homes--which has increased every month in the last six years-- rose to $240,400.
