Shift to Buyer's Market Reflected in Fewer Bidding Wars
According to a recent study, fewer homebuyers in January of this year faced competitors when making offers on homes when compared to a year earlier. Across the US, only 13% of potential home buyers faced bidding wars when making an offer on a home in January, compared to 53% of potential buyers who faced competition a year earlier. In the Atlanta area, 12% of potential buyers faced competing offers, compared to 41% in January 2018. Analysts believe that the market is shifting from a seller's market to a buyer's market, giving home buyers more options and more time to shop around.
