Strong Growth in Atlanta and Georgia Housing Markets Expected to Continue in 2018

Thanks to lower median home prices compared to the rest of the country, a growing population, and a tightening supply of available homes, the Georgia housing market, especially in the Atlanta metro area, is expected to continue its strong growth in 2018 as one of the top performers in the country, according to USA Today. Home prices around the state jumped 10 percent between July 2016 and July 2017.   Nationally, home prices are expected to rise 4.6 percent in 2018.

The housing market is expected to remain strong in other states around the southeast in 2018, too, especially Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
