Fewer Homes Selling in Metro Atlanta

Recently released data indicates that, while the local economy remains strong, fewer homes are selling in metro Atlanta when compared to a year ago. Home sales in greater Atlanta are down 15 percent from last year. Analysts attribute the slowdown to rising home mortgage interest rates and more buyers being priced out of the market due to increasing home prices. The region's population is expected to continue growing rapidly, however, and demand for housing will remain strong fo the foreseeable future.
