Fewer Metro Atlanta Homes Sell, Median Sales Price Increases

Although fewer homes sold in metro Atlanta during December 2018 when compared to a year earlier, the median sales price rose 5.3% due to low inventory. DeKalb County, where home prices rose 11 percent to $285,000, led the metro area. Prices in Gwinnett County rose 9% to $255,000, Clayton County prices rose 8% to $140,564, and Cobb County prices rose 7% to $283,500.   Although prices rose only 3% in Fulton, the county continues to have highest home prices in metro Atlanta, with a median sales price of $330,000.
